SHOWING BINDING -NOVA SCOTIA WAY

A 2nd  WAY TO ''SHOW BINDING''

This is a traditional finished edge still done in many parts of Nova Scotia.

The material is just a recycled mens pant fabric of plain old polyester found at Frenchies

-(or any thrift store) . . .

the fabric is cut into strips and sewn onto the backing (Linen in this case) at the very BEGINNING of the hooking process for the mat!

Simple . . .

a line is scored straight on grain and then the strip sewn onto both sides . . .seen here (photo at top) from the back side of the mat.

and. . . 

The mat is then hooked  right up to the binding . . .
RESULT= is a nice finished ''SHOW BINDING!''
